Imogen Abernethy and Bruce Paine performing at the NZ Guitar Guitar Ensemble concert on April 27th 2013

Bruce Paine appeared as guest performer for the New Zealand Guitar Ensemble 8th Annual Concert. For this concert he performed two of his latest folk song inspired compositions for solo guitar alongside Imogen Abernethy who sang unaccompanied folk songs, 'Blow the Wind Southerly' and 'Peat fire flame'.

New Zealand Guitar Ensemble is proud to present our 8th Annual Concert with the theme "Angry Birds" and is going to perform video game themes such as Super Mario, Dark Clouds 2, Final Fantasy and Angry Birds. Guest players are Bruce Paine and Imogen Abernethy (Guitar & Voice) and Miran Min (Gayagum Korean traditional string instrument).

New Zealand Guitar Ensemble is a classical guitar ensemble group currently consisting of Korean boys, girls and adults who live in New Zealand. It started in 1998 as a part of The Southern Cross Korean Performing Arts Group and had several performances in places such as the Auckland Town Hall, Aotea Centre, Churches, Rest Homes and the Auckland Guitar Society. It has also won, on three separate occasions, first prize in the ensemble division of competitions held by the Auckland Guitar Society. In May 2005 it separated from The Southern Cross Korean Performing Arts Group and it now aims to have its own 1~2 performances each year.
