Review by well known New Zealand historian Dick Scott...
"I thoroughly enjoyed watching the DVD. Most impressive are Bruce's new classical guitar compositions and also learning more about Alberton and the Kerr Taylor family and their contribution to Auckland and New Zealand's rich heritage. The DVD is a treasure to help commemorate the 150th anniversary of the house being built and for future generations to learn of our past."

What a well crafted and beautiful movie, with the Ball scene looking very much part of the era. Great for Alberton to have such a good resource too.

What wonderful imagination you have had to engage in such a concept and to complete such a tribute to Alberton and its family. I was enthralled as I watched, I smiled with absolute pleasure right through it, and went to bed thinking about all the music and history that you brought to life. I am really looking forward to watching it again with other family members. I loved it from start to finish!! The DVD/CD case is beautifully presented - lovely just to hold and look at.

We just wanted to say how much we enjoyed your DVD premiere on Saturday night! You have out-done yourself with the highly professional artistic production. Needless to say, the music is very special too! There are so many aspects of the DVD that superlatives would describe. Well done!!!!

I finally got to watch your DVD this week. Fantastic! My wife and I really enjoyed it. Congratulations on a HUGE effort. We got to do the easy part! Sit and enjoy. I particularly enjoyed the opening piece which I found very moving and loved the Seringapatam piece and LOVED the clip of you playing it in your wonderful costume. The camera work and setting are just stunning. You enter into a very personal recital space where it feels like the guitarist is really playing to you and for you. Wonderful experience. That is now my favourite NZ guitar clip. Of course it is all composed and played at the highest level and how you managed to join in with a music box is beyond me. Thanks for all the work Bruce.

I heard your brilliant music on RNZ and did some research on line until I found your website. I am so eager to hear more of your original compositions. I like the links between nature, history and music.

The whole family watched your Alberton film on sunday night. We all loved it and even the teenagers, usually restless, were absorbed and watched right through to the end. I have never seen anything quite like this wonderfully unique New Zealand musical film.

We were married at Alberton a few years ago, so this will be a fitting wedding anniversary present.
