"Tonewood and Bear Claw": Opportunity to Win CD Copies in June

Auckland, New Zealand - 3 June 2015 - Internationally renowned guitarist and guitar composer Bruce Paine launches his latest CD "Tonewood and Bear Claw" at the historic place Alberton in Mt Albert on Sunday June 21st at 2pm.

Radio New Zealand Concert presenters will feature the CD as their competition prize throughout the week commencing June 15th.

Bruce says, "I am really excited about the new collection of works and looking forward to sharing them with my supporters and the rest of 'the world'".

The "Tonewood and Bear Claw" recordings were previewed on the Radio New Zealand programme "UpBeat" (6th March) by Eva Radich and Wellington guitarist Gunter Herbig who said that "Bruce is a man who likes to think outside of the box and would like to appeal to a wider audience."

The album, recorded at St Michael's Church in the Auckland suburb of Remuera, features two hand crafted instruments made by Aucklander Rod Capper.

The superb church acoustics add vitality to the sound of the guitars which are modern copies of 19th century instruments (Torres and Panormo.)  The album tracks offer a range of musical styles from the same period.

During the launch Bruce will play several pieces (about ten minutes in duration) from the CD program.

CDs will be available for sale during the launch party and there will be a chance for a chat and to have copies signed.  The cd price is $25 and please note there will be no eftpos available.  There will be a special offer, discounted price of $20 each for two or more copies.

Not only will there be a chance to win a copy via Radio New Zealand but all those attending the launch party will be automatically in the draw for one of two further free copies.  A copy of Bruce's 2012 release Alberton will also be offered as a separate draw prize.

CDs can also be ordered online via wwww.brucepaine.co.nz

A koha will be appreciated for afternoon refreshments.

Attendance numbers strictly limited to 50.

Interest in the cd launch can be registered by June 15th via the online registration form on Bruce Paine's web site. The form can be found under the 'concerts' section. Please note that booking is not possible via Alberton and attendance is subject to confirmation.
